Alison Sweeney begins additional film project

Production of the former DAYS' star's latest film has begun, making her one very busy Emmy nominee.

As if writing a book, hosting The Biggest Loser, starring in Hallmark's Murder She Baked, gracing magazine covers, and raising a family isn't enough for Alison Sweeney (ex-Sami Brady, Days of our Lives) to juggle, the Emmy-nominated actress has added another film project to her plate.

Sweeney (who'll be vying for her first ever Emmy award in the Outstanding Lead Actress category this month), has begun production on the previously reported project, Hallmark's Radio Hype. The film follows a radio host (Sweeney) who moves to Chicago for her boyfriend and a new hosting gig only to find her relationship coming to an abrupt end. Her sense of security also ends when she decides to share her troubles with a colleague (Jonathan Scarfe), who she later discovers is actually a competitor.

Not only will Sweeney be starring in the film, she's also executive producing the flick.

"Having Alison Sweeney back in a Hallmark Channel Original Movie is perfect. Alison's first movie for the network, 'Second Chances' was one of the highest rated and we are so eager to work with her again as an actress and executive producer," said Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President of Programming, Crown Media Family Networks, when the news first broke last year.

While filming Radio Hype, Sweeney is looking forward to the premiere of her most recent project, Hallmark Movies and Mysteries' Murder She Baked, which costars All My Children's Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan Lavery) and premieres on Saturday, May 2. She's also looking forward to celebrating her first-ever Daytime Emmy nomination during this year's Emmy ceremony, which takes place on Sunday, April 26.
